In honor of me being at the beach this week, I have pulled out an oldie and a goodie.
This is probably the last time I was seen wearing a bikini. People who have seen me at the beach this week, you should say thank you. I at least have sense enough to keep it covered, unlike some folks. A protruding abdomen is cute on a 6 year old, but not on a 56 year old. Words to live by people.
I would be the hot babe on left wearing the floral ruffly ‘kini. Is that purple and orange?! And that would be my twin sister in the highly fashionable faux zebra print. How about the inflatable pool is just screaming the ‘70’s!!

I didn't know you were a twin too! Very cool. I love the bikini shot and thanks for sharing your beach wisdom. Do go ahead and rent one of those airplanes that fly over the beach with messages attached to the tail. Because a lot of people need proper attire!
Have fun!
Oh girl you are WORKIN it. And I so totally am feelin you about the 56 yr old in a kini.
Just cause you can buy it in your size, doesnt mean you should!
Tammy..you are just way too cute in this photo. I love the pool - wish I could get one just like it for T&R.
you and your twin look cute!
Hugs and Blessings,That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

What a couple of cuties!
I love your pool! Purple and Orange what a beautiful combination!
aawwhh what cuties!
Love the pool! Can't say the same about the swimsuit :) But you were sure a cutie!
Very cute! My "Fro'" post today also features me as a kid in a swimsuit!
So cute! It brings me back to those days of bikini wearing! : )
Oh, that is funny! The protruding tummy part! So true! I think people feel like they are on their own private beach or something.
The photo is adorable!
You both look adorable!
And it still amazes me today that I was able to marry and have children after the beach scene I saw in California. My suitemates and I were walking down the boardwalk in Malibu, and happened to see the late 50's early 60's year old guy change. Oh yeah, swim trunks off and bent over in front of us. All of us being the innocents that we were (we were at a Christian school, so we weren't at a party college) swore we would never be able to have ess ee exx after that!
Awww, that photo is adorable!
You are so wise on swim attire. Wish we could make people read yur words before they could be on a public beach!
You are SO cute!!!
I had a similar bikini at that time. It was orange, purple AND hot pink! Oh, the possibilities!!!
Hey, we had pools like that back in the 50s and 60s! It's not just a 70s thing! Y'all are really cute.
So, you are a twin too! Twins must be genetic in Alabama. I'm a fraternal twin, and I have fraternal twins. There are twins across the street and twins next door!
Hi Tammy!
I wanted to thank you for visiting my blog and...yes, SHINY...those dresses were shiny! Tinfoil...that's what my girls say.
I love your pic....I've been here before...your blog! Love it... I'm longing and praying for the beach as I type now....

Oh you are sooo cute there! I think the last time a wore a bikini was when my hubby and I went on a cruise to the caribbean and that was easily 40 lbs ago! And even then I felt very self conscious. 2 piece swimsuits are definitely for the the young and sexy.
That is just the cutest thing!!
Too cute! And that pool could be back in right now, you know, it all comes back...well, maybe not everything.:)
How cute! I was going to pull out some old swimsuits photos too, but I'm just too tired to post...I'll be calling you tomorrow :)
Too cute! I must say I LOVE the 70's flower power pool!
Oh, I bet you could still pull off wearing a bikini! :)

So cute. I love poochie kiddo tummies in bikinis. Can't get any cuter than those.
Yeah, what up with that belly. When exactly does that age switch from being cute to not cute at all. I'm wishing it would last past pregnancy! :)
Oooh, my BIL is gonna LOVE your blog! (He's Greek - from the islands.)
As for the pot bellies... I think your strategy worked quite well - blind them with the purple/ orange combination. Your twin also seemed to have a handle on it: ruffles pretty much cancel out the effect of a pot belly. I so wish those 50+ year olds running around wearing next to nothing remembered those rules.
