Faith Under Fire

This is a photo of one of our friend’s home that burned on Thursday night!

The home is a total loss.

Praise the Lord the family was able to get out of the house safely.

Unfortunately the family pets did not.

This is one of those events that make you ask, “Why God?”.  Why this family?

They are at church every time the doors are open and involved in EVERYTHING!  This Sunday, he will be ordained as a deacon.

Without going into details, they have endured much over the last 9 months.  And now this???

Bad things do happen to good people.  Even godly people.

This family has a faith that is strong.  And now they are having to endure yet another trial.  But they know our God is bigger than ANYTHING!

How do they know?  Just look at the message He left them:

This is a hymnal found open amidst all the rubble.  Opened to page 20, “Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above”!

Coincidence?  I think NOT.

Please pray for the Rucker family as they praise God during this storm.  Especially for the children as they mourn the loss of their pets.

They lost almost everything in the fire, but not their faith.  And it will see them through!

Sing praise to God Who reigns above, the God of all creation,
The God of power, the God of love, the God of our salvation.
With healing balm my soul is filled and every faithless murmur stilled:
To God all praise and glory.

I love it when the messages are spelled out for us. Thanks so much for letting us know - I will keep them in my prayers. How sad that their animals didn't make it out. I often think of that when I try to pick up my cat and she squirms and wiggles out of my arms within seconds. I realize that it would be a miracle to get her out of our 5th floor condo.

WOW what a message. God is always so good to show us He is ALWAYS there. We had a similar incident happen to my mom when my dad passed away over a year ago. It was with a scripture memory book.

All my prayers with the Rucker family as they deal with the loss of their home and pets. Fire is terrifying! Thank heaven for their faith. May they find comfort in God, their church family and their friends. Is there anything we could send to help out?

That picture just breaks my heart, but also makes me rejoice at how good God was to help them all make it out.

This is exactly why I have taught my boys from a young age that we pray every time we hear a siren. You never know who is facing this kind of tragedy.

Oh, this post makes me cry for them. But at the same time. I do know that what God leads you to He will lead you through. They can use this expeireance somehow, someday, someway to move people, to minister. I am certain of that.
I will pray for this family. I am so so sad for their pets, I cant imagine. Mine are my family. Is there anything we can do? Send?
That hymnal IS the voice of God. I think it is amazing and I hope that they find comfort and strength in HIs love.

Oh I am so sorry that happened! There is a reason for this happening, and God will get the glory.

Oh how sad....I'm a little behind on blogging so I just read this tonight. I will definitely keep this family in my prayers. Do they have any immediate needs I might could help with?
