‘Fro Me to You – Wait! Never mind.

*Happy Dance*  The ‘Fro is back this week!!

This week I bring to you two photos I found while going through a drawer.  Which clearly fits into the carnival guidelines, because these photos have never graced the pages of a scrapbook!

I am still amazed how a complete memory comes back to me when I look at one photo.  Yet, I can’t tell you what I had for breakfast this morning.

These photos were taken when I was in high school.  We were visiting my dad for Christmas and, as usual, went to Yaya’s house for a visit.

At Yaya’s house was her dear helper, Rose.  Who also spent significant amounts of time helping out my mom at our house when my siblings and I were very young.  She and my mom watched As the World Turns together!

We had moved to another city and hadn’t seen Rose in a few years.  And since she was special to us, we wanted to get a photo of all of us together.

I would bet $20 these photos were taken with my handy dandy Disc Camera—go ahead, admit it, you had one too.

The only person left to take the pictures was Yaya.  I gave her the quick rundown of the camera and my siblings and I gathered around Rose for the photo.

Everyone was smiling and before it was too late, the first photo was taken:

Ummm, yea.  Notice I am talking.

Because Yaya was holding the camera in front of her body and not up to her eye to see what she was taking a photo of.

I tried to interject that she needed to actually look through the viewer.

And before we knew it, she took one more photo:

And then she was done.   She handed my camera back to me and that was it.

I think she took two great photos of Rose!

Too bad she cut off my sisters’ heads.  And my brother was also in the photo….well, not really.  His short little self was probably standing right in front of me and Rose, if I had to guess his location.

Based on her photo taking skills, Yaya was well ahead of her time for taking photos with a digital camera.

Do you have photos like these that have never made it into a scrapbook?!  Well, get them out and join in the fun!

Aw, that Yaya! Maybe she was just being artsy and getting different angles! So cute.

So funny how the older gen does things like that. My FIL will try and use the phone to change the TV channel! Cracks me up everytime!

Very nice that you got that snapshot. There are so many people that I wish I had a picture of.

That is really funny and the pictures are very cute. Hubby's grandma would do something like that. :)

Grandmothers are a riot, especially when it comes to taking direction. And I loved your quip about digital cameras.

The entire Christmas Pageant is relived this way. We gave my mother-in-law the camera. . .

Well, I've got to admit that my skillz are not much better than Yaya's before the advent of digital cameras. Thank the Lord for modern technology!

Awesome. I love how a photo brings memories rushing back and how the not so perfect photos are all the more cherished for the memory it holds. Well done. :-)

I have many cut off heads shots in my old photo albums. I thought it was just my parents bad photography skills. Thank you for clearing up my confusion.

She made a memory though! I love less than perfect things that leave sweet memories.
