In this week’s edition of Kristen’s Thursday Fun-day carnival, I am going to keep it short, sweet, and to the point!
As I scrolled through my photos, I came across these two photos. One of me, one of the Princess; but both taken with the same exact hairdo.
See for yourself:
Let me just say, we’ve come a long way over the last three decades in the soft curler department.
Raise your hand if you remember how incredibly uncomfortable the pink sponge rollers were?! And how many of you actually woke up with more than 3 curlers still in your hair???
The Princess doesn’t know how good she has it with her new-age soft curlers!

I remember my Mom doing the curlers to my 2 younger sisters.
awh she looks just like you but happier..you must of felt the pull..ouch!
I loved the pink rollers! You are so cute and funny in your pic!
And she looks like a little princess. I agree with P.S., your head must have been sore!
Those pink rollers were a nightmare! I never slept well that night and my hair was always too curly in the morning. Your daughter looks much happier with her rollers.
Those pink rollers. I think I need therapy. Every Saturday night my Mom would put our hair in those torture devices so we would look pretty for Sunday morning. And she wondered why we were grouchy every Sunday morning! ha!
(I tagged you! http://ldgermany.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-first-tag-of-2009.html)
Oooh! I hated those pink curlers....my girls have it made, especially since I've NEVER done rollers. Maybe I should try!
Yes, I remember those pink sponge rollers. The curlers on the side I slept on always fell out, so I'd have one curly side and one straight!
Your photos are adorable!
I'm raising my hand!!! I had to wear a bandana around my head though, to keep them in my hair.
HAND RAISED!!! I used to love them though...they made me feel so grown up!
Cute. And yes I did wear those same curlers. They sure did hurt to sleep in.
I am TOTALLY raising my hand here!
Those things were absolute murder on your head!!
But you both look so stinkin' cute... :)
My little princess has also just gotten into those curlers - she can't get enough of the shirley temple curls!!! what a darling princess, and today's curlers are much nicer!!!
You know I just needed to see this. Too sweet and cute, etc. Oh get this, I have super curly hair and have still tried these. ;) How you are you - my tweet times have been off. so thinking of you .
Can you see how high my hand is raised?? YES ma'am
Was that the last time rollers were in your hair? I just can't imagine you rolling your hair these days, lol.
I haven't been to your site in a week!!!!!! How does that happen? I am shocked.
You are right - she has got it made. We would put rollers in my baby fine hair and I would wear them forEVER. Then mom would pull them out and I would have curls in my hair - for five minutes.
