I’d like to thank Queen B for posting a cookie recipe this morning on her blog. Because nothing goes better with college football than a DELICIOUS new cookie recipe.
And we love us some cookies almost as much as we love Alabama football. I said almost!
As we waited for the big game, the kids and I threw the recipe together. In less than one hour, we had 40 delectable treats.
And without prompting Lego-Man had the camera out taking photos for “the blog”. I love that kid!
When the Princess heard Lego-Man read, “9 to 11 minutes” she asked, “you mean we have to wait until 9 to 11? PM?” Poor girl. We’ve got a bit of baking education ahead of us.
Next stop, the oven:
The 9 to 11 minute wait was quite difficult as you can see:
Ta-da:
Lego-Man wanted to title this one “the moment we’ve been waiting for”, so I did:
The cookies were absolutely delicious, and went quite well with a cold glass of milk and even better with Alabama football! Even if the recipe came from someone in Arkansas. Kidding, QB.
Here’s the recipe in case some of you folks want to try it. It was super easy and we made half the batch with pecans, simply because we love them and I had them on hand, and they were quite yummy also.
B's Best Cookie Ever
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups coconut (the Angel Flake kind)
Preheat to 375.
Cream your butter and sugars until fluffy-ish. Beat in your eggs, then stir in the vanilla.
Mix your flour, soda and salt in another bowl. Stir mixture into the fluffy-ish mixture.
Stir in the chocolate chips and coconut.
Plop spoonfuls of dough on your cookie sheet. Please use parchment paper. Then you don't have to wash your cookie sheet and you won't be mad at me for making you use 2 bowls.
Bake 9-11 minutes. Let them cool for a few minutes and then put them on a cooling rack.
