Slight Fright Night

This year was the first year in several that our church’s Fall Festival did not fall on Halloween night.  So we decided to take the kids out for Trick or Treating.  Which I think is harmless fun.  Just my opinion.

The costumes:

Indian Princess.  I guess I should say Native American this day and age?

PA310029 The headless Lego-Man.   Idea from a book, created by mom…..not without painstaking effort that involved frustration and tears.  But the result was great.

You have got to see these photos of one of our neighbor’s house.  He brings new meaning to Griswold, even though it is Halloween.

One of us scared a pre-teen girl half to death:

And one of the neighbors on her OWN porch:

You just can’t take a headless guy out to dinner, so we made him change into something a little less dramatic:

My complaint for the night:  kids appearing TOO OLD to be participating in the festivities running amok in the neighborhood.  I am thinking that by age twelve-ish, your trick or treating days are basically over.  Just my opinion.

And I’d like to just take a minute to give thanks for two little bits of goodness:  the Heath Bar and Milk Duds.  Manna from Heaven.

WoW! I am impressed with his costume! I am also in agreement that the older kids trick or treating is off putting. I saw people who looked as old as 17 or 18.
At that point I want to say hey just go to walk mart and buy your own flippin' candy!

Too funny!
Yes, thank goodness my soon to be 13 year old has outgrown it- so now I just have to trick or treat with one!

They both looked so good but your son rocked his costume. It looks like yall had a ball. My girls are definitely too old to go but my son enjoyed the little bit that he did.
