Welcome to Thursday at the GRITS house!
*bells* *whistles* *confetti parade*
Yes folks it’s hard to believe a week has passed, but it is indeed THAT time again.
Time for Kristen’s blog par-tay, where we, the bloggers, give you, the readers, a glimpse of some photos that have never graced the inside of a scrapbook. For obvious reasons. Yet posting them on the Internet is so much more fun!
As I make final preparations for the weeks leading up to what will be my Christmas spectacle spectacular, I will give you one quick preview that will hopefully keep you coming back for more.
I present to you, me….I would be the little booger on the left. That cute sassy thing on the right would be my little sister.
The gift to get that year, a green plastic garbage can with a heapin’ helpin’ of SLIME inside. I knew exactly what to do with it. This was the beginning of my comedic career, which was obviously short lived.
I am gonna’ have to guess my age, but I think I was probably around 9 in this photo. Which leaves my highly fashionable little sister at the ripe old age of 5.
It’s nice to be reminded I might not have been the only one in the house subjected to wearing the dreaded “corrective shoes”. (click back new folks, it’s well worth it)
For more snot funny photos click on over to We Are THAT Family here. And while your at it, why not join in the Thursday fun. It’s like therapy, once a week AND it’s free.

Oh, the open fly and corrective shoes have CLEARLY made my night!
Have you ever noticed how memories have smells to them? I remember when my nephew, who is my age, got that garbage can of slime for Christmas and brought it over to the house! Oh my gosh that stuff smelled awful! Now I am gonna be smelling that stuff all night. :/
I love the DUH shirt!! And McFly, you are bringing back some memories!!
Love the title btw.
LOVE it!! Those are some stylin clothes dearie!
That is SO funny!!!! LOL
I had blocked out those shoes and outfit and now you have brought them back to me. I'll talk to you after I see my therapist!!
Ok my stomach just ..egh...well the title was enough to warn me ..but still..egh..
see you tweet!
Oh my, that must have been a popular year for the Stretch Monster and the Slime, if my memory serves me correctly, I got the same things from Santa!!! That is too funny!!!
OHMYGOSH--You are the corrective shoe post are cracking me up! Tammy-guess what. I, too, wore the clod-hopper corrective saddle oxford shoes! Yes I did! Now you've inspired a post about them sometime. Thanks for the big laugh. And you were too cute. The Disney pics were SO cute!
What a great pic to have so many things to comment about!!
Loved the slime..I had it too. This picture cracks me up! I'm still in a bit of a blog rut but hope to be back to my good ole self very soon.
I tip toed to this post, unsure of what boogerage I was about to view.
Whew! I can handle slime!
I think your comedic career took off quite nicely... you have given me MANY giggles!
I loved your corrective shoes post, Tammy. I am now thinking of my poor sister's painful year wearing corrective glasses. Now, I've worn glasses for many, many years with no embarrassment, but there are glasses and there are GLASSES. And, in the case of your childhood, there are shoes and there are SHOES.
AHAHAHAHHHAHAH! This is freakin hilarious!
Oh, slime! I never had a can. That stuff sure did smell, and the janitors at school hated it! Lucky!
When I was in first grade we did a gift exchange in our class and I gave a can of the green slime to the girl I had been assigned and she cried!!! I thought it was a totally cool gift! :)
Love the slime, but we never got any for Christmas, much less any other time - we were deprived I know, but my mom thought it was gross. Love the new family pic :)
OMG! I luved SLIME! Absolutely luved it!
I wore corrective shoes, too -- Was it like a trend or something???
Love your Twins pics. Your mom had all the cute outfits, similar to ours. :)
