We’ve got the spirit!

In the final edition of Spirit Week 2008, I bring to you photos from the culminating day…..otherwise known as SPIRIT DAY!

Our team: the Patriots.  Our colors: red, white and blue.

You can’t really tell in this photo, but his hair was spiked with blue and red gel.  His plan was to get his entire face painted by the cheerleaders at school, instead he pocketed the $1 and called it a day.

The Princess joined in the hair gel fun and had a streaky blue/red theme going on up there.  I hate to say it, but this photo reminds me of celebrity mug shots that circulate on the internet.  She did spend her $1 and had the cheerleaders tattoo her face with a cheerleader on one cheek and #17 on the other, which is her teacher’s son’s jersey number.

I must say compared to some children, mine were mildly decorated.  As I sat in the carpool line, I saw children with painted faces, arms AND legs.  Wow, I guess we are not that dedicated.  I’ll have to up the ante next year.

Let me just say, the hair gel was a nightmare washing it out!!  But look at the shampoo fun we had with Lego-Man:

He also declared, “I wish it was Spirit Week every week!”

Although we had A LOT of fun with it, I’m sure glad it isn’t.  I look forward to a week of regular clothes and hairstyles.

Now, I bring to you a fun cheerleading video because it’s about having the “spirit” AND it makes me laugh!

Happy Weekend Y’all!!

Your kids are adorable. BTW, my friends and I have been interested in Greece lately, since two movies that we've seen together "Mama Mia" and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants II" were both filmed there, I think. Santorini Island? Anyway, they all want to visit there now. Is the water really, truly that blue?? Also, I HAVE to use that video at some point. I'm a former cheerleader, albeit a terrible one, but still, I love cheerleading related stuff. Thanks for the smiles!

Lovin' the hair! I would like to put some red streaks in mine, but I'm a little scared!

Too funny, that video is too funny!! My hubby turned cartwheels and roundoffs for my daughter's squad when she was too young to be embarrassed about it! They were very impressed.

Spirit week looks like it was lots of fun! I bet those kids with paint all over were might itchy by the end of the day!
